Sim-Angus Bulls The Sim-Angus Bulls that we are offering in this sale are a well-balanced set of bulls. We do not creep feed our calves while they are on the cow. The bulls are hand feed a small amount of grain starting at weaning and slowly increased thru-out the summer as they grow. There are many benefits to growing a herd bull on grass with a limited amount of feed, it will increase the longevity of these bulls, and insures they can breed cows and hold their weight in real world conditions. At weaning we select about 45 to 50% of our bull calves. Selecting them for the highest weaning weights, the right look, conformation and docility. We reevaluate the bulls about 60 days after weaning and continue to do so thru out the summer selling off any bull that is not meeting our expectations. The Dams of these bulls were raised here on our farm. We don’t supplement our cows, and we cull any cow that doesn’t raise a respectable calf and rebreed in a timely manner while eating grass and hay. We feed a high-quality free choice mineral year round, and vaccinate our cows twice a year as recommended by the vet. The Sim-Angus bulls were vaccinated at weaning, given boosters shortly after and again when we semen checked them before the sale. They are up to date on all vaccinations and have a current BSE and are ready to turn out with your cows. We do recommend that you revaccinate and deworm your bull next spring. This is a bull that we are very excited about, he is impressive no matter which angle you look at him from. He does have some warts on the side of his jaw, they have been treated by the vet and will be fine. Qualifies for both Ky. & Tn. Cost share.
