And Receives the Thin Blue Paw Award POLICE DOG SAVES 38 LIVES

to her community, Thin Blue Paw gave her the Lifesaver Award to commemorate her hard work. The foundation mentioned how the canine is a true inspiration and that her work deserved to be recognized. Not only was Luna excellent at finding missing people, but she also fiercely loves her handler and would do anything to protect her. When talking about Luna’s loyalty, McBride mentioned that “she has a wonderful temperament when dealing with vulnerable and high-risk people … but she still had the ability to switch when dealing with a dangerous criminal or anyone who would show violence towards her or me.”

ensure you’re getting the best service possible and enjoying your experience with us. While you all love the food and all the varieties, many of you reached out to me and voiced how most of you miss the single-size portions. The single-size containers gave each of you the perfect amount of food to settle your hunger and even have some food left over. The regular-size containers were just a little bit too much for your liking — and I completely understand and agree. I want to tend to your needs, requests and desires as much as possible, so I did some digging when I heard that most of you want the smaller containers back. I’m happy to announce that the single- size containers are back in stock and are readily available! Back in November, I began ordering these containers again, and starting this month, your favorite portion sizes will be back and ready for purchase. ... continued from Cover When we think about first responders, we typically think about humans. But dogs also play a critical role in the police force and have impacted the lives of their police force and their communities. The Scotland Central Division Police force had one of their best companions retire in June 2022: a 10-year-old German shepherd named Luna. “Luna would continue to work if the choice was hers,” said Linda McBride, Luna’s handler. Luna and McBride first became a team in 2012 when Luna was only 12 weeks old. The pair created a strong bond and always looked out for one another. Luna was an exceptional police dog who searched and tracked high-risk missing people. Over her career, Luna has successfully rescued 38 people. One of her success stories occurred in 2019. Luna was sent out to find a man who had gone missing. After capturing his scent, she put her senses to work and located the man hiding in a bush, suffering from hypothermia. If it wasn’t for her, the man may have never been found and could have died. This is only one of the many heartwarming stories of Luna and how she saved the lives of many. Because of Luna’s hard work and dedication

Luna has spent her entire life protecting her community and handler. But now it’s time for her to take a well-deserved rest. McBride mentioned that she and Luna took their first vacation to celebrate her retirement. They went to the beach and played in the sand and sun. Now, Luna can relax and focus on being a loveable furry friend. Thank you for your service, Luna! Not only have you impacted your community in Scotland but also many people in the U.S.
