INDUSTRIAL INJURIES DISABLEMENT SUPPLEMENTS Unemployability Supplement (UB Sup), available prior to 8th April 1987 for those who could not work as a result of their disability and would be unlikely to work again. Exceptionally Severe Disablement Allowance (ESDA) was available to a person entitled to Constant Attendance Allowance (CAA) at one of the two higher rates. They must be likely to need the same amount of care permanently. COPYRIGHT © 2021 THE CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF PAYROLL PROFESSIONALS Constant Attendance Allowance (CAA) can be paid to a person receiving Industrial Injuries Disablement Allowance (IIDA) Benefit at 100% rate where constant care and attention is required as a result of the industrial injury or disease Reduced Earnings Allowance (REA) for cases where an individual cannot return to their normal job, or one that pays as much. Those who receive REA of £2 per week or more, and are not regularly employed, on attaining retirement age may receive a Retirement Allowance in place of REA and at 25% of their rate of REA subject to a specified maximum.
