As noted previously, the average pay per swim fee has risen above £5 for the first time – the UK average is now £5.22. Pools in England charge the highest average pay- and-play fee (£5.36 per swim) and have seen a higher increase since 2022 (+6.6%) than other regions of the UK: Wales (£4.84, +3.4%), Scotland (£4.85, +4.5%) and Northern Ireland (£4.06, +2.3%). Although all region have increased their pay-and-play swim fees since 2022, Northern Ireland remains 22% below UK average, while London – at £5.82 – is 11% above the UK average.
