DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The Academy for the Performing Arts (APA) is a performing arts magnet program offering extensive college and career prep classes in a variety of performing arts and media disciplines within a traditional high school environment.

OUR VENUE All APA classes are taught on the Huntington Beach High School (HBHS) campus. APA utilizes a unique rotating conservatory schedule. APA students take academic classes in the morning and most performing arts classes within their chosen department during and after school. APA students must attend a high school that is part of the Huntington Beach Union High School District (HBUHSD), and all students accepted into APA are eligible to apply for a transfer to HBUHSD and/or HBHS. THE CAST Actors, dancers, singers, musicians, technicians, choreographers,

The Arts Schools Network (ASN) Board of Directors has named Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts an Exemplary School in recognition of its commitment to excellence. The five year designation is awarded for 2023-2028. ASN, the nation’s largest professional membership organization of specialized arts schools, awards Exemplary School designations to members that follow A Guide to Assessing Your Arts School in strategically evaluating their school’s purpose, operations, and educational programs.
