Refer patients to a Healthy Lifestyle
For more than 35 years, Northern Sydney Local Health District’s Healthy Lifestyle program has been helping local older adults get fit, feel great and have fun. Healthy Lifestyle offers a range of exercise courses, including gentle exercise, strength and balance exercise, aqua exercise, Tai Chi and Yoga. Courses are low-cost, accessible and held in local community venues (including local hospitals) in Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai, Ryde, Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore areas. “More than 1000 enrolments are received for the programs each term with most participants aged 70 and over,” explained Healthy Lifestyle Manager, Leonie Grejsen.
“Many participants have been attending our courses for years as they not only enjoy and benefit from the exercise but also the social connection and friendships they make.”
If your practice or service is looking to help older adult patients/clients achieve improved fitness and function, then refer them to a Healthy Lifestyle course. For more information visit nshp.com.au/HealthyLifestyle or email nslhd-healthylifestyle@health.nsw.gov.au
