CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
GOLDEN AVENUE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
The existing Golden Avenue Bridge is being replaced with a new two-lane bridge featuring sidewalks, bike lanes, a striped median, hand railings, and related grading, drainage, utility, and roadway improvements. Construction began in February 2026 and is anticipated to be completed in October 2026. The project is funded through Measure U, the Highway Bridge Program (HBP), and Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending (CPFCDS).
FY 2026–27 RESIDENTIAL STREET REHABILITATION PROJECT
The Residential Street Rehabilitation Project covers 667,000 square feet of pavement improvements in the northwestern part of the City between Bastanchury Road, Palm Drive/City Limit, Kraemer Boulevard, and the West City Limit, plus minor sidewalk, curb, and gutter work. With a pending budget of $2,300,000.00 funded by Measure U and Gas Tax/SB1, construction is expected to run from October 2026 to February 2027.
New curb ramps will be installed along Livingston Avenue between Tuffree Boulevard and Kraemer Boulevard to improve accessibility, along with removal and replacement of damaged sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. Construction is anticipated to take place between November 2026 and be completed by January 2027, with City Council approval.
