CINEMATOGRAPHY To create this hellscape—essentially a massive ash storm and dust cloud— Cinematographer Alex Disenhof and his team “took a lot of inspiration from the wildfires in California and Australia, and what it was like to be in the middle of these firestorms.”
VFX “It was very real,” says Producer/VFX Producer Ron Ames referring to the pyrotechnic effects in this sequence. “On top of it, we bring in all of the CG tools we have for color and adding more debris and fire. When you put it all together, it’s truly remarkable. It’s scary.”
CINEMATOGRAPHY “This is the only scene in the show where we had filtration,” says Cinematographer Alex Disenhof. To capture the quality of red and orange, a tobacco triple filter was used in the camera.
