PATIENT REPRESENTATIVES
5 SOPHIA
6 JAXSON Let us introduce you to Jaxson – our 2026 patient representative! Jaxson is an energetic and determined 7-year-old who fills every room with joy and motion. Born at just 22 weeks, his story is nothing short of a miracle – many children born that early never get a chance to walk, talk or play. But Jaxson continues to defy the norm and is making remarkable progress. He’s now walking, building agility and strength and finding his voice, speaking often and proudly!
The board and staff were delighted to work with Sophia as our 2025 patient representative this year, and we are so proud of all that she has accomplished! Sophia started her journey at PBRC in November 2022 at just 3 years old. Born 17 weeks early, Sophia spent several months in the NICU on oxygen and after several medical issues was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. At the start of her therapy, Sophia was unable to walk and had significant tightness to both legs, making her braces uncomfortable. Since beginning therapy, Sophia has progressed to walking long distances with her forearm crutches and even short distances without crutches! The tightness in her legs has decreased and she is wearing her leg braces all the time now, assisting with her stability. Receiving services in physical therapy and occupational therapy, Sophia is strengthening her skills and increasing her independence. But most importantly, through therapy here at PBRC, Sophia and her family are reimagining the possibilities for her future. All of Sophia’s accomplishments have been made because of the support the Reability Center receives from donors like you. From ALL of us here at PBRC – THANK YOU!
Tune in to our Annual Telethon March 23rd through 28th on NW9 to meet Jaxson and learn more about this amazing little man!
