Dear producers, I have enjoyed getting to as many of your operations over this past year as I could and, between Payden and I, we plan to add more visits this coming year. Overwhelmingly, you all have said not to change how we develop the bulls. The best compliment we receive is that our bulls do not change after they have been turned out. Many of you have told us that the bulls come off the cows/heifers with little to no weight loss. This has been one of our goals in the way we grow and develop them: to provide you with bulls that do not fall apart after turn out. Along with that, we also believe they will have more longevity. From a family update, Payden came back in August full time to the operation, after serving as the manager of Kansas for Genex for the past 2 years. We are thankful that he made the choice and took this leap, as we cannot do this without him. Ella graduated from Kansas State in May and began work as a graphic designer/print coordinator for the American Angus Association in July. The 6th generation to be involved in the agriculture industry in our families, from the time they could get themselves to the barn, they’ve been involved with every part of our operation. We are very blessed to work beside them. We would like to thank you for taking time to consider our 2024 bull offering and value your trust in us, as well as in our cattle. The bulls will be available for viewing at our place near Grantville until the week of the sale. We hope you can stop by to get through them and the cowherd. On March 19, we will haul them to the Mill Brae Sale Facility near Maple Hill. We want to thank Mill Brae Ranch, the Nikkel family, for everything this past year and have enjoyed working with them to establish our joint sale. A great family with exceptional cattle who love the Angus breed as much as we do. We hope you can make it on March 22nd, if not sooner. Our doors are always open. Gene Barrett
