• A bull with a touch of white on his face, out of an Epic x Pipeline first-calf heifer, did a great job with him. Weaning at 776 lbs., this bull comes from a maternally driven pedigree with no holes, tracing back to J1089, who also has a bull later in this sale. • Genomic EPDs say 9N is suited for heifers…I’d advise caution. This is a good example of seedstock producers knowing our cattle. Stemming from a very maternal cow family, 9N has a bit more shoulder width and bone than I’d like to see coming out of a heifer. 85 1 CE BW WW YW MCE MM MWW STAY DOC MB BF REA API TI 14 -0.1 73.3 108.1 8.4 29.7 66.3 19.7 12.3 0.45 -0.043 0.63 160.7 86.8 15% 15% 15% 15% 15% 15% 727 1201 3.40 36.2
• What an absolute tank! I don’t think you could pack any more red meat into the rear end of this fella. He’s an attractive bull that’s been a favorite all summer, starting at 70 lbs. and weaning at 790 lbs., thanks to his Law and Order dam, who got the job done! He’s thick over the top and travels extremely solid on all corners. • EPDs might suggest he’s a heifer bull, but with his bone, chest, and 242Z in the pedigree, I’d recommend using him on second-calvers first. The last thing we—or your vet—want is a phone call in the middle of the night. When we recommend a bull for heifers, we study his EPDs, individual data, phenotype, and the cow family going back generations! 70 1 CE BW WW YW MCE MM MWW STAY DOC MB BF REA API TI 14.8 -2.2 67.8 101.5 7 30.1 63.9 18 12.2 0.27 -0.034 0.72 150.4 81.8 10% 10% 15% 25% 25% 731 1234 3.59 33.1

• This is one of my favorite bulls built for calving ease—he’s got a small, clean head, smooth shoulders, and the kind of build that flies out. He’d make a great heifer bull—but honestly, with his type, he’ll work anywhere. • A baldy bull that will mark his calves—boy, oh boy, is this guy cool! Imagine the set of steers and fancy replacements he’ll sire. These are the kind that get buyers out of their seats. Use him with confidence and keep his daughters. 70 1 CE BW WW YW MCE MM MWW STAY DOC MB BF REA API TI 13.1 -0.7 78.3 121.2 7.4 28.7 67.8 18.6 12.5 0.2 -0.016 0.44 133.2 78.7 15% 15% 763 1227 3.35 34

“I have found over the years that calves sired by Stavick Simmental bulls attract buyers at sale time. They have the frame, stretch, bone, and performance that the feedlots strive for.” – Tyler Hellwig, Sisseton Livestock Auction
