Nspire Home + Garden 2023 Edition

P lanning a home based on a beautiful view is a fine idea in theory but not always easy to execute. While extra attention may be given to what can be seen from a big picture window in a par - lor or great room, smaller windows in the other rooms may lack lovely surroundings, like maybe a dull street view or a neighbor’s home. But in the hands of a knowledge - able custom builder, every room can have a view. That was one of the accomplish - ments of the Rustic Riverview, a 5,102-square-foot home that over- looks the Spokane River. The five-bedroom, three-and- a-half-bath home was built with a 360-degree view in mind. The home was pivoted slightly on the lot to ensure an amazing view in every direction – especially the side facing the river. Bedrooms, living rooms and the other rooms all have views of forests, hills and other natural scenery. “The goal was ‘a view from every room,’ so they did everything they could to make it just perfect,” said Cindy Perry, an agent with Windermere Coeur d’Alene Realty. Perry said the home’s builder Dan O’ Dell from Dano Development enjoys working closely with clients to create the home of their dreams. “One client ended up saying they wanted the ceiling a little higher, so they worked to replace the trusses,” Perry said. The Craftsman-style home offers two master suites, including one that accesses a balcony. There’s an open concept kitchen, dining and living room area. That area also provides easy access to a covered patio that includes an outdoor

The kitchen area includes easy access to cupboards, appliances, several cabinets and cupboards plus a handy walk-in pantry.

One of the master baths includes a clever brick walk-in shower that resembles a grotto, plus a separate soaking tub.
