on those verses about which our lis teners write. We certainly do not avoid discussing any portion of the Word of God. This context reminds us that the victory that overcometh the world is our faith. Both of these verses are important in the light of the second and third chapters of Revelation where emphasis is placed on the blessings to be bestowed on the one who lives the overcoming life. Every saved person is an over comer in the sense of Scripture (I John 5:4, 5). Our Lord said in John 10, “I am come that ye might have life, and that ye might have it more abun dantly.” Fruit-bearing for the believ er is described in John 15. The se cret is capsulized with the words, “Abide in me, and I in you” (v. 4). Note the emphasis, too, on abun dance: “fruit,” “more fruit,” and “much fruit.” We’re told with which one our Lord is most pleased: “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bring forth much fruit.” God grant that this may be true of each of our lives.
