EXTERNAL ALTERATIONS TO HERITAGE PROPERTIES
Principles DO – Respect the original design, construction and appearance of a property – Alterations should be limited to the rear of a building, or parts of a building that have already been changed
Things to avoid DO NOT
Change valued heritage features (such as roofs, chimneys, verandahs, walls, doors and windows) that are visible to the street (including both sides of a corner block) or the front of a property where there is limited street presence Tip for owners If you are planning changes to a heritage property, talk to the City of Casey’s Heritage Planner about whether you require a planning permit.
When undertaking external alterations, make sure to protect and enhance the heritage features of your property
