WRF Next Steps

The next steps of this developing program are to expand usage among farmers and tailor the WRF Self- Assessment to the needs of a variety of areas. We are considering an online management platform and expanding the number of educators and advisors who are familiar with the program and are able to work with producers on the Self-Assessment and Certification. Partnerships will continue to be a key objective for expanding the use and capability of this program. These partnerships can vary based on the needs and desires of the area; however, there are many programs around the country with an interest in agricultural and environmental sustainability. There can be mutual benefit between organizations or groups to enhance, promote, and recognize the value of this Extension program. There is potential for this certification to help farmers get premium discounts on crop insurance programs or, potentially, other benefits.
