The City’s Office of Economic Development provided $7.7 million in incentives for property and training grants for HOLON’s proposed 580,000 square foot plant. The facility will employ up to 150 workers, plus benefits. The city’s tax incentive includes a $7.5 million Recapture Enhanced Value Grant that would be paid back over a 10-year-period, and a $200,000 training grant based on $1,000 per trainee. The State of Florida also offered an incentive package that includes an $8 million grant. “It was a good incentive package to get this project to move forward for a $100 million capital investment and $16 million in tax incentives. It’s a good ROI for city and the state,” said Aundra Wallace, JTA Chairman and CEO of JAXUSA, the economic development arm of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
