HOLON & JTA PIONEERING SCALABLE AUTONOMOUS MOBILITY IN THE U.S.
The HOLON urban: Bridging the Gap in Autonomous Mobility At the heart of HOLON’s vision stands the HOLON urban – a fully autonomous, all-electric shuttle purpose-built for public transportation. Unlike retrofitted vehicles, the HOLON urban is designed from the ground up for Level 4 autonomous driving, meeting automotive-grade standards and enabling industrial scalability. With capacity for up to 15 passengers, barrier-free access, an automatic ramp, and a low entry height, the vehicle sets new benchmarks for comfort, safety, and inclusion. Reaching a maximum speed of 37 mph and powered by a 110 kWh electric motor, the HOLON urban (at production / before sale to U.S. customers) will meet or be exempted from FMVSS requirements, Buy America requirements, and will be ADA compliant, qualifying it for public road use in the U.S. In addition, it fulfills regulatory requirements for European and other international markets. However, the HOLON urban is only one piece of the puzzle. To deliver efficient and reliable autonomous mobility services, it requires a strong ecosystem built on collaboration between public transport authorities, operators, self-driving system providers, vehicle manufacturers, and the active support of local and regional stakeholders. HOLON’s decision to build its first U.S. production facility in Jacksonville sends a strong economic signal. The approximately 500,000-square-foot facility will be Florida’s first one dedicated to autonomous vehicle manufacturing and a catalyst for regional development.
A Blueprint for Future Mobility Partnerships As cities and transport authorities across the globe seek scalable, inclusive, and sustainable mobility solutions, HOLON’s partnership with JTA offers a compelling model. For operators considering similar initiatives, Jacksonville demonstrates how strategic alignment, regulatory openness, and community engagement can accelerate the deployment of next-generation mobility. Why Jacksonville? A Strategic Choice for Innovation “Jacksonville has shown strong interest in our vision from the very beginning,” says Dr. Sven Herzig, Chief Sales Officer at HOLON. “The city offers not only a strategic location but also an innovation-friendly environment with clear support from the State of Florida. The regulatory climate is open to autonomous mobility, this was a decisive factor for us.” The decision to establish operations in Jacksonville was driven not only by logistical advantages but also by the city’s enthusiasm for future technologies. The local government, JTA, and partners like JAXUSA demonstrated early commitment to supporting new mobility solutions. “Our new production facility is the first of its kind in the United States,” Herzig adds. “It represents industrial scalability, market-ready technology, and the transition from pilot projects to full-scale deployment. Jacksonville is more than a location. It’s a strategic partner for our U.S. market entry.”
