New Amalga Gold Project advances with FAST-41 designation

The company is advancing a proposed underground mine designed to produce roughly 150,000 ounces of gold annually over a seven-year mine life. A key part of the development concept is sensor-based ore sort- ing and off-site processing, which could reduce the T he New Amalga Gold Project near Juneau has reached another important development mile- stone after being accepted into the federal FAST- 41 permitting program. The designation brings greater coordination and sched- ule transparency to the federal review process. The U.S. Forest Service will serve as the lead federal agency. Owned by Grande Portage Resources, New Amalga is located about 15 miles north of Juneau within the his- toric Juneau Gold Belt. The project hosts an indicated resource of approximately 1.44 million ounces of gold grading 9.47 grams per tonne, along with an inferred resource of about 516,000 ounces grading 8.58 grams per tonne.

A 2026 Preliminary Economic Assessment estimated initial capital costs of about $255 million and project- ed strong economics at higher gold prices. The study remains preliminary, and the project does not yet have a mineral reserve. Grande Portage is now focusing on the engineering, environmental and geotechnical work needed to move toward permitting. Its 2026 program includes thousands of meters of drilling to better understand ground condi- tions and groundwater for future mine design. The company has also secured a commercial relation- ship with Ocean Partners covering potential offtake of up to 100% of production during the first seven years, along with proposed financing support. Grande Portage expects to begin the formal federal environmental review process in 2027, with permitting and other development work continuing toward a potential production start around 2031.
