College – Issue 44

“We have wanted to show that there are many ways to look up and out in order to drive the change that benefits everyone.”

We also more fully understand the challenges and adversity that these girls face and experience every day. We hope we have helped to create a path to safety and education for more young girls in Africa.” Bede and Max describe the school support as “nothing short of amazing”. “From the start, our teachers and non-teaching staff have backed us, helping with planning, logistics, and promotion. They have also encouraged us every step of the way. “During our ‘around the Quad marathon’, students have been joined by teachers, with each lap contributing to a points board to

find the House that comes out on top with the most laps, and wins a ‘pizza shout’. Julius House has taken the title, but has opted to donate the pizza money to the 1HumanRace cause.” Both Max and Bede also greatly value the wider school community. “Your contributions have made a world of difference, and we are immensely proud to be part of such a compassionate and proactive school community. Together, we have shown that we can create ripples of hope and change from the other side of the world.”
