In turn, this can benefit boys both academically and in other aspects of life. “The team’s mental skills/ mindfulness programme aids in managing stress and anxiety, fostering a calm and composed mindset that enables them to recognise and correct their mistakes more effectively, leading to continuous improvement. They also learn about following the rules and staying safe. Taking part in events helps the boys develop a healthy competitive spirit while also learning to acknowledge the success of others. They can line up alongside someone new to the sport or a world champion or an Olympian. Importantly, the sport illustrates the value of patience and perseverance as students work to improve their skills and provides a sense of belonging and community.” Chris urges every College student to “choose a path that excites and motivates you”. “Whether it is further education, a job, or a gap year, following your interests will lead to greater satisfaction and success. And remember that education does not end with school. Stay curious, keep learning new skills, and seek opportunities for personal and professional growth throughout your life. “Cultivate relationships with mentors, peers, and professionals. Networking can open doors to opportunities, provide support,

and offer valuable advice, and realise that financial literacy is crucial for your independence and future security.” He adds that “life is unpredictable, and the ability to adapt to change is a valuable skill, so be willing to pivot when necessary”. “Take care of your physical and mental health. Establish healthy habits, seek help when needed, and make time for activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Define achievable goals and create a plan to reach them. Having a roadmap helps you stay focused and motivated. And understand that resilience is key to overcoming challenges and

bouncing back stronger.” Most importantly, commit to community service or volunteer work.

“Helping others not only benefits your community but also enriches your own life and provides a sense of purpose. Stay true to your values and make ethical decisions while always striving for a balance between work, relationships, and personal interests. A well- rounded life will contribute to your overall happiness and fulfilment.”
