a great deal of knowledge from competing against the best young sailors in the world. In total, 418 sailors from 70 countries spent a week in northern Italy, racing in various competitions. Prior to the event in Italy, Will finished 9th in the 29er European Championships in Gdynia, Poland. In a field of 138 boats, Will – along with his crew – was the top overseas team.
Year 11 College sailor Will Leech has finished 10th at the Youth Sailing World Championships on Lake Garda in Italy. Along with his Auckland-based crew, he has impressed in the 29er class. Representing New Zealand, Will has finished 3rd, in two of the heats, and gained
Harper House duo PJ Palamo and Rico Lemalie have both made their mark in the 2023 New Zealand Rugby League Aotearoa 16s team. Rico also featured in the U18 Warriors team against Kirwan State High School in June in Christchurch. Both have played for the South Island Scorpions, with Rico leading the team in the national competition. In rugby, PJ and Rico were also invited to trial for the Junior Crusaders.
