PIA Unveils Recruiting Solution Printing Industries of America un- veiled a talent acquisition program called Open House Recruiting. Pow- ered by technology partner JobOn, Open House Recruiting is a hiring so- lution that marries the modern virtu- al recruiting strategies of today with a traditional face-to-face open house. The Open House Recruiting pro- gram is a complete turnkey solution that sources viable candidates and de- livers them to a company’s door.The program comes with the Open House Hosting kit that includes sug- gested activities, interview questions, sample itineraries, and digital signage templates.A customized employment posting is disseminated through digi- tal channels for maximum exposure. Interested applicants complete an on- line video questionnaire. From their responses, a recruiter vets potential candidates for the hiring company. Se- lect candidates receive an invitation to an in-person open house at the printer’s facility.The hosting company can conduct private interviews with promising candidates during or after the open house. E ach calendar year, the Independent Carton Group (ICG) hosts membership meetings in which representative of member companies share news and updates concerning their businesses. The ICG is an association of 19 independently owned and op- erated folding carton manufacturers who collectively repre- sent more than $800 million in annual sales and 1,500 years of packaging history.

In 2016, meetings were hosted by Indiana Carton, Bremen, In- diana; 3C Packaging, Clayton, North Carolina; and Finn Indus- tries, Royal Paper Box and Thoro Packaging, co-hosted a meeting in Huntington Beach, California. Member companies of the ICG include:Accord Carton,Accu- rate Box,All Packaging, Colbert Packaging, Curtis Packaging, 3C Packaging, Dee Packaging Solutions, Diamond Packaging, Disc Graphics, El Paso Paper Box, Finn Industries, Frankston Packag- ing, Indiana Carton, Jones Packaging, Royal Paper Box, Son- deren Packaging, Thoro Packaging, Wausau Container and Zumbiel Packaging. Several of the companies have reported recent facility expan- sions or relocations. Accurate Box completed phase one of a 200,000-square-foot expansion at its Paterson, N.J., facility. Colbert Packaging purchased a new 173,000-square-foot building in Kenosha, Wisconsin, which now houses its flexo- graphic-printed carton, label and insert operations. (Cont’d on Page 4)
