September
Fortune Cookie Day Three billion fortune cookies are enjoyed every year. These cute little biscuits with their fun ‘fortunes’ normally promise health, fortune, and good luck to whoever opens the cookie. September 13 is the day to celebrate this interesting little dessert cookie by making an Asian dinner, or getting carryout. The origins of the cookie can be traced back to Kyoto, Japan in the 19th century, then making their way to the US where they are a staple in almost all Asian style restaurants. Original cookies were darker in color and not as sweet as the current cookies, however they were all made with a message tucked inside.
