December
Cabernet Franc day An annual celebration of the Cabernet franc wine is just one more reason for wine lovers to celebrate. Another newer holiday it was first designated in 2015. Cab Franc is one of the most important black grapes grown all over the world and are mainly grown for blending. The wine is a bit lighter than Cabernet Sauvignon and it is a bright pale red in color. Records show it to have been founded in the Libournais region of southwest France in the 17th century. Celebrations of this wine should include sipping a glass or two, learning more about it’s origin and enjoying a dinner paired with this wine. Not as popular as a few other wines, Cab Franc is beginning to take it’s place in the world of wines, as it is credited with being the parent to Cabernet Sauvignon as well as Merlot and Carmenere. Have your party and share your wine day celebration using the hastag #CabFrancDay on social media!
