Homemade MeatSauce

Ingredients: 1 ½ pound of lean ground beef 1 large yellow onion, chopped 6 cloves of garlic, sliced thin Olive oil Kosher salt and cracked pepper 1 28 oz. can of San Marzano tomatoes
1 28 oz. can of tomato sauce 1 6 oz. can of tomato paste 1 bay leaf 1 tsp. of sugar 1 cup of Italian red wine 1 8 oz. pack of sliced Baby Bella muchrooms (optional) 3 Tbs. of Italian blend herbs Directions: In a large enameled pot, heated medium-high Add 2 Tbs. of olive oil Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent Stir in the garlic for another minute, transfer to a plate using a slotted spoon Break the ground beef into small lumps adding it to the pot, cook until nicely browned Season with salt and pepper Add back in the onions, garlic and mix well Pour in the canned tomatoes and sauce, breaking down the tomatoes a bit Add in the tomato paste, stirring as you go Add in the bay leaf, sugar, wine, sliced muchrooms and the Italian herbs Bring up the temperature to get your sauce to bubble, then turn down the heat to simmer for 45 minutes to an hour As it reduces, you may want to add some water to keep it a sauce consistency Adjust the seasonings to taste Remove the bay leaf, and serve on your favorite pasta or zoodles
