June World Milk Day
World Milk Day was established by the United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization to celebrate contributions of the milk and dairy sector to the world. A rich source of calcium, milk is an integral part of our lives. Presently milk comes from not just cows or other mammals, but sources including almonds, soy and coconut. The dairy industry contributes to wellness but also provides livelihood for milllions. Each year a theme is chosen and for 2022 WMD is bringing attention to climate change. The choice of a black and white theme for the tablescape was inspired by napkins found at a home store. A visit to a thrift store and a matching scarf was found and it serves as a table runner. Simple foods reminiscent of a malt shoppe from decades past this menu incorporate plenty of milk and cheese!
