UKRANIAN Sunflower
The sunflower has been used as a symbol of peace throughout Ukranian history. In June of 1996 defense ministers planted sunflowers to celebrate Ukraine giving up nuclear weapons. Now a country at war with Russia the meaning of the sunflower as a symbol of peace has not changed as the cropping up of sunflowers worldwide have become a call for peace in Ukraine today and to plant the seeds again for a more peaceful future. People around the world are embracing the sunflower as a symbol of solidiarity for the people of Ukraine.
