ERSEY CITY, NJ — Schol- ars Village, the flagship residential development rising within Jersey City’s SciTech Scity innovation hub, has officially topped out. De - veloper Alpine Residential announced that the project’s twin 12-story buildings have completed vertical construc- tion, advancing the vision of this pioneering development on the edge of Liberty State Park. Executives from Alpine Residential and tradespeople from KL Masters Construc- tion Company , the project’s general contractor, gathered to celebrate the milestone. J
Located at 225 Phillip St. just south of the Liberty Sci- ence Center, the mixed-use development will deliver 500 rental residences, contempo- rary amenities, and 4,000 s/f of supportive retail space. Alpine Residential was cho- sen in 2021 by Liberty Sci- ence Center to develop Schol- ars Village as the residential component of SciTech Scity, a 30-acre innovation campus created through a partner- ship between Liberty Science Center and the City of Jersey City. Designed to connect sci- entists, tech companies, and students in a fully integrated
live-work-learn environment, the broader campus will include the existing Liberty Science Center, New Jersey’s largest cultural institution and the largest interactive science cen- ter in the tri-state area; Edge Works, a business incubation hub; Liberty Science Center High School, a public magnet STEM academy operated by the Hudson County Schools of Technology; and Public Com- mons, three acres of outdoor activations that foster explora- tion, creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Designed by GRT Archi- tects and Ismael Leyva Architects , Scholars Village will comprise two residential buildings connected by a one- story lobby base, with ground floor retail space. The prop - erty will offer a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with contempo- rary finishes and fixtures. Floor-to-ceiling windows will frame stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, Jersey City, the Statue of Liberty and Liberty State Park. Select homes will feature balconies or terraces. An array of amenities and social spaces will include a roof- top with sparkling pool, lounge area, grilling stations, water gardens and landscape gardens. Inside, there will be a fitness center with CrossFit room, co- working area with conference room space, demonstration kitchen, children’s playroom, and pet spa. There will also be a concierge, a TULU lending system and on-site garage park- ing with EV charging stations. SciTech Scity and Scholars Village are located in Jer- sey City’s Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood, where Alpine Residential has played a key role in its renaissance. The developer’s Bergen-Lafayette Collection includes nearly 1,000 apartments and ground-floor retail across five thoughtfully designed mixed-use buildings. “The Bergen-Lafayette Col- lection has enriched the area and community with the intro- duction of brand-new residen- tial homes, along with highly regarded dining options and retail conveniences,” said Todd Schefler , managing partner of Alpine Residential. South Oxford Management, Alpine’s affiliated management company, will direct the leasing and management of Scholars Village. MAREJ
