Cont. from Page 25 repentance to the acknowledging o f the truth." GOODNESS is another dress we must wear and wear well. This can be in the shades of green. II Peter 3:18: “ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.” Goodness is that state of being good—the phys ical qualities which constitute value, excellence or perfection. Only God is good and we can never be good in ourselves, only as we are dressed in Christ’s robe o f righteousness and have His perfection and excellence. I Sam. 12:23 and 24: “ — God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way. Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great things He hath done for you.” The next is FAITH. Let us make this a two- piece unit and add TRUST. Heb. 11:1: “ Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Prov. 3:5-6: “ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.” As we trust the Lord Jesus Christ and put our faith in Him, we will be able to have confidence toward others and those dear to us. MEEKNESS. This will be an every-day dress, to put on in the morning when we start the day. This is a quality o f being mild of temper, not easily provoked, yielded and humble. Rom. 6:13: “Neither yield ye your members as instruments o f unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourselves unto God.” Eph. 5:21-24 further tells us — “ Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the Church; and He is the saviour o f the body.” One of the Beatitudes states: “Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.” The last garment in this trousseau is SELF- CONTROL. This will be an all-season dress o f any color. Self-control is control exercised over one’s self. These are qualities that we cannot work up by ourselves. They only come as we yield our bodies a living sacrifice to the Lord so that He can work in and through us to His glory. II Peter 1 :5-8: “And beside this, giving all dili gence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, patience; and to patience, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to broth erly kindness, love. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
