February, the month of roses and romance , to cherish the beloved’s smile , the Roman goddess Februa as an overseer and purifier, to give away the burgeoning of spring. February knocks as Valentine of airy grace Mahagony hearts of lace on Coruscating cards . The fleeting snowy days into the bewitching aroma of blooming blossoms . The history of Valentine’s Day is shrouded in mystery ; the truth behind is murky, but emphasizes its appeal as a sympathetic, heroic. Saint Valentine, was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine, realizing the injustice defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius hanged him whereas on the contrary to one legend, an imprisoned Valentine actually sent the first “valentine” greeting himself after he fell in love with a young girl who was his jailor’s daughter , during his confinement. Before his death, it is professed that he wrote her a letter signed, “From your Valentine,” an expression that has being validated the signature of romanticism.
