“You Can’t Perform Well With Neck Pain.” FOCUS ON NECK PAIN TO RELIEVE HEADACHES

The forward head position puts a strain on the neck muscles resulting in general muscle tension in the head. This can affect blood flow to the scalp, resulting in a headache. Pain can be referred from the neck to behind the eyes or forehead and even one sided headaches around the temples. Pounding headaches at the back of the head can be related to neck muscle tightness and limited movement. Since many headaches stem from problems with neck movement and posture, it is wise that you see a physical therapist; a muscle and skeletal expert to help you. Find out how you can relieve your aching neck and nagging headache for good. Call us today for more information!

The fact is that even the simplest movements can cause short periods of neck pain. Yet some of us may actually be experiencing chronic neck pain. Simple, repetitive movements can lead to prolonged muscle tightness, which can take time to show symptoms. In comparison, muscle strains happen with quick jolts such as an injury or lifting something too heavy. How neck pain can go to your head Headaches can stem from tightness in the neck muscles at the back of the neck, which is brought about by a forward-head posture and rounded back. This is very common if you work at a computer or sit a lot. In this position the spine is strained. Try to stand up tall with your back against a wall. How far away from the wall is the back of your head? If you have a forward head posture, your head will be quite far from the wall.

“I am able to turn my head without pain!”

Meet Mrs. Dawn. She came to us with severe neck pain and headaches and was also having a lot of difficulty driving and sitting at the computer. After a fewweeks of therapy, she is now able to go through her day without pain. Check out her success story below. “On March 1, 2017, I came to Lonoke Physical Therapy for help with my neck. I had no movement to my left and I was unable to turn my head. I was unable to sleep and the pain was tremendous, a 10 for sure. Being this was the first visit, I still had no movement and was sore. The stretching exercise was enough to give me the relief I needed to get more sleep. At the end of the first full week, I was truly amazed. I was able to feel a big difference in my pain. I was beginning to have movement. I would estimate a 20% improvement. I was beginning to sleep through the night and find that I had minimum pain in the mornings. Being on doctor prescribed pain medicine, I was able to transition to over the counter pain medicine, and deep heat rub. At the end of the second week, I was so much better. I would estimate a 60% improvement. I was able to make all the appointments and find I could move my Outstanding RESULTS Able to drive pain free!

Could still hear a clicking sound in my neck, but Matt added an exercise to my physical therapy. Now my clicking is minimal. Now that I am at the end of my physical therapy, I amable

After only a few weeks of therapy, all of my pain, stiffness and self-pity are completely gone! The staff at LPT are kind, courteous and most of all very professional. I could not have asked for a better team or experience. Thanks LPT, you rock!” - A.C.

I’m also able to drive pain free. Thank you to the wonderful help and excellent staff at LPT. ” - P.P. Stretching gets better and easier! “No daily headaches. I can turn my head without pain.
