was acquired by EMBA in 2005. “One thing that was a selling point for us is EMBA has an office in Cleveland, so the proximity felt good to us,” Steve said. “They have been extremely responsive when necessary.” Jeff Mendenhall recounted EMBA’s role in the initial lay- out of the 295 and its installation, saying, “When EMBA came in here and proposed the machine, I said, ‘I’m not sure this is going to fit.’ They said, ‘We will draw all this out and then you can see what it looks like.’ And they basically handled it.” Steve McElroy added, “From the minute we made the decision they had everything laid out. And I will say this about EMBA: they hit every date they said. They were not late on anything. If they said it was going to show up on January 3rd, it showed up on January 3rd. We were able to bank on that.” Next Up Steve McElroy nearly a decade ago started his compa- ny’s facility and equipment overhaul. Beginning with the move to the new Orrville facility and its later expansion, the retirement of older, antiquated machines and the ac- quisition of state-of-the-art converting technology, McEl- roy Packaging is now a competitive force in its Northern Ohio market. Its annual sales at the time of its move to McElroy Packaging’s EMBA 244 Ultima, the precursor to their latest EMBA acquisition, the 295 QS Ultima.
