The Canada Trade Mission 2024 was hosted by the High Commission of Canada in Malaysia from 25-26 March 2024. This program was launched by YBM Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul bin Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry. The goal was to present Canada as a preferred partner, to encourage Canadian companies, from large and diverse enterprises to SMEs, to do business in Malaysia, and to raise awareness of Canada's knowledge and experience in a variety of areas. Meanwhile, The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Canada International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business, and Economic Development also chaired a nuclear roundtable discussion together with representatives from Atkins Réalis and CANDU Monark to build a rapport between Canada's and Malaysia nuclear stakeholders which led by Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA). The Chairman of MSCA, Ts Dr Raslan Ahmad, was invited to facilitate the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) for the Development of the Manjung Smart City Action Plan 2030 (PTBP Manjung 2030) which is being developed by UiTM Technoventure Sdn Bhd. A total of 40 representatives from government agencies around the Manjung district and the state of Perak also participated in this FGD. This action plan, which is in its final preparation phase, outlines 91 initiatives under 7 smart city components towards strengthening Manjung as an inclusive, advanced, sustainable, and smart Tourism and Maritime City by 2030.
