New Testament interpretation from the original Greek Text NEW TESTAMENT LIGHTS

D r. T . J. Bach

“My freedom, of action may be limited, but it is not destroyed. I have it in my power to turn to God. I can choose to pray, to sur render, to trust” (Paul S. Rees). “Do not trust proud, self-seek ing leadership” (Dr. Harold L. Lundquist). “A man has deprived himself of the best there is in the world, who has deprived himself of a knowledge of the Bible” (Wood- row Wilson). “There is no book so varied as the Bible, nor so full of concen trated wisdom” (Herbert Hoov er). “You can recollect the sayings of great men, you treasure up verses of renowned poets; ought you not to be equally profound in your knowledge of the words of God, so that you may be able to quote them readily when you would solve a difficulty or over throw a doubt?” (C. H. Spur geon) The most difficult translation of the Bible is that which must be translated into Christlike liv ing. The Bible wh ich ' most people read is the daily life of the one who confesses that he is a Chris tian and believes the Bible. When the Bible is silent about a subject, I, too had better be silent, unless I recognize the pos sibility of coming back to confess that I was mistaken. Bible camps and conference grounds are battlefields, not just for the unsaved, but for Chris tians as well. A faithful servant of the Lord once said: “In coming to the Word of God, we do well to re member that we should: Add nothing to it (Rev. 22:18), Take nothing from it (Rev. 22: 19), Change nothing in it (Prov. 30: 5).
