FINANCIAL FREEDOM IS YOURS — GRASP IT BY THE HORNS

This month, we celebrate the Fourth of July. While many of us celebrate by a day off work with barbecues, parades, fireworks, and parties, let’s not forget the true meaning. This day commemorates the Declaration of Independence, the document the Founding Fathers wrote and signed that declared that the Thirteen Colonies were no longer subjected to the monarch of Britain, King George III, and were now united, free, and independent states.

A pretty amazing statement and risk they took and the reason we celebrate today! In addition to this freedom, on July 1, National Financial Freedom Day is observed. Although this day has already come and gone, it’s still an opportune time to raise awareness for and celebrate financial freedom. When you hear the term “financial freedom,” you may think of the relief of being debt free and not having a mortgage to pay or bills to worry about. Possibly it means having enough saved to retire comfortably. For everyone, the term likely means something a bit different, but one thing is the same — it refers to having enough of an income stream and savings to afford a desirable lifestyle without working. Some people can’t wait to retire and may make sacrifices here and there to retire

early. Others might retire and decide that they wish to return to work part time. Some opt to retire later in life and may work longer to create a larger savings bucket. Everyone is different — some want to travel more frequently than others, live in larger homes, or experience more expensive adventures. Everyone spends and saves differently, but across the board, financial freedom is a shared goal — whatever that looks like for each individual. Having the ability to afford all of life’s necessities along with supporting your own life’s goals is the great American dream. What does financial freedom look like for you? As you near, enter, and navigate retirement, how can we help you achieve, maintain, and sustain financial freedom and a life you are excited to celebrate every day? 1 1/4 cups chopped white chocolate 1 tsp matcha powder, ceremonial grade 14 fresh strawberries, rinsed and patted dry

DIRECTIONS

1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. 2. In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave the white chocolate in 15–20- second intervals, stirring in between until it’s completely melted. 3. Add matcha powder to the melted white chocolate and stir until thoroughly mixed. Hold a strawberry by its leaves and dip it into the matcha chocolate mixture until it’s almost entirely covered. Shake off any excess chocolate, then place the matcha-covered strawberry on a baking sheet and let it harden. Repeat with remaining strawberries. 4.
