Ho‘omaika‘i Hie! ➳ OCC’s own Hie Loui has been named one of the 2023 Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation scholars. The recent Punahou School graduate is an outstanding academic, athlete and leader in multiple sports, including canoe paddling, water polo and volleyball (indoor and beach). In her free time, Hie volunteers at the Maunalua Fishpond Heritage Center, Mālama Maunalua, and Wailupe ‘Ohana Council. This fall, she will attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, majoring in Aeronautical Science while playing for the women’s volleyball team. Her ultimate goal is to become a commercial pilot.
