Best Management Practice
Take-Back Program*
• Avoid: Design precision and pre-cut fabrication minimise waste at source
• Trigger: Any partition removal or end-of-life event activates the take-back protocol
• Minimise: Modular components reduce off- cuts during installation
• Dismantling & Segregation: Site Supervisor oversees removal; mixed-waste disposal of recoverable materials is prohibited under SOP
• Reuse: Demounted systems can be reconfigured or redeployed at site
• Collection: Approved recycler collects
materials and issues weight-based delivery documentation within 14 days
•
Segregation: Aluminium, metal hardware, glass, and packaging kept separate from general waste
• Documentation: Project Manager uploads weight bills to SharePoint within 7 days; JEB Product Take-Back Tracker updated with kg recovered, recycler name, and proof of receipt date
• Recycle: Segregated recyclables directed to dedicated material streams
• Dispose: Landfill and/or Incineration will be the last resort
Material Pathways
• Aluminium and metal hardware: Collection by approved commercial recyclers, most metals can be recycled indefinitely without losing its properties.
• Glass: Product take-back via manufacturer supply chain, processed into cullet and recycled into new glass products.
*The take-back programme is fully operational for direct office projects managed by JEB. For projects fulfilled through dealer or distribution channels, take-back capability is encouraged, subject to local recycler availability and regional infrastructure.
