Gloucester's Blackfriars site in 2015 before redevelopment
became a Language Immersion Centre, Close by, on what was once a parking area and scrubland, scores of flats have been constructed, or are about to be built, for almost 500 university students. Our before and now pictures show just how dramatic the transformation has been.
The site is overlooked by the imposing building of the former Gloucester Prison, where plans are now well advanced for specialist developer City and Country to build 200 flats on what is a very difficult site. Still be to be completed is the vision for the redevelopment of Gloucester’s waterfront at The Quay, with hundreds of new homes next to the riverside location and the redevelopment of the historic Fleece Hotel site in Westgate Street l
