Gloucester Renaissance: The Magnificent 7

GLOUCESTER RENAISSANCE

Customers come first

Regeneration work on Gloucester retail hot spot King’s Walk is now underway, starting with improvements to its car park. A 22-week programme to increase the number of parking spaces, improve stair and lift access and provide new Changing Places public toilets will lead on to major plans for the shopping centre itself. “I am really excited about this first phase of King’s Walk development. We are working closely with Gloucester City Council, which manages the car park. When we are finished, customers visiting King’s Walk by car will notice a vast improvement,” said Peter White, who is excited by new retailers, including shoe shop Deichmann, and other new names soon to be revealed. Phased temporary closures are underway on different levels of the car park. Levels four, five and six are expected to re-open on August 16.There will be no access to Gloucester Guildhall via level four during this time. Level 3 will be closed from August 19 until September 6, Levels 1 and 2 from September 9 to October 4, and the whole car park from October 7 to November 8.
