Getting Married Giving notice to form a marriage

The notice is a legal statement which must be signed by you and the person you are marrying. The numbers of days’ notice you have to give prior to your ceremony is 28 days for everyone, but possibly 70 days if you or your partner are subject to immigration control. Both parties are required by law to give legal notice of marriage in person to the register office in the district in which they have resided for a minimum of seven consecutive nights.
