Our Solution: We coach educators and develop Portal features to help schools monitor attendance trends, easily identify students with declining attendance, and ensure every one of those students has a support plan.

EMPOWERING English Language Learners
Our Solution: Since 2017, our Building Secondary English Learner Educator and Administrator Leadership (B-SEAL) program has trained around 130 teachers and leaders in innovative strategies to help students learning English accelerate their progress and succeed in school. Through a partnership with City College, these educators earn either a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification or a Bilingual Extension, at almost no cost to them. The Challenge: NYC’s population of Multilingual Learners continues to grow, yet too few educators are equipped to meet their academic and socioemotional needs.

The Challenge: Math achievement has stalled nationwide. Without strong coaching and leadership support, even the best curriculum can fall short—especially in schools serving the highest-need students. Our Solution: New Visions supports NYC Solves, a citywide initiative to implement the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum in middle and high schools, by offering curriculum-based professional development and in-school coaching to build teacher skills and confidence, and improve student outcomes.
Our Impact: Based on the outstanding feedback from educators for our Algebra I support in SY 2023-24, we were invited to coach in over 140 NYC secondary schools during SY 2024-25.
B-SEAL was an amazing opportunity. The kids are feeling more empowered, they can really read and comprehend texts. It’s a huge victory.
