Expanding College Access & Success
New Visions provides over $ 1.2 million in scholarships to students in our network each year.
Given the challenging rollout of the new FAFSA during 2023-24, we’re especially proud to highlight our Bridge program, which supported students and families in navigating these complexities. Bridge Coaches are recent high school graduates, trained and supported by New Visions, who help high school seniors navigate the path to college.
New Visions Affinity schools outpaced class of 2022 national college enrollment rates 72% to 62% , according to the most recent available enrollment data.
I'm currently attending Buffalo State University and have been incredibly grateful for the scholarship support I've received. The funds have allowed me to focus more on my studies by alleviating financial pressures, enabling me to invest in textbooks, research materials, and participate in extracurricular activities that enrich my education beyond the classroom.
New Visions isn’t just a resource—it’s a network. Whether I need support with FAFSA, postsecondary planning, or problem-solving a unique challenge, I know I can call someone at New Visions who has the expertise to help. It’s a support system that makes a real difference in how we serve students. David Buie COLLEGE ADVISOR, NYC
78 % of graduates participating in our Bridge to College program completed FAFSA—surpassing the statewide completion rate by more than 20 percentage points

I love being a Bridge coach, giving back and being able to help the students. Since they come from an underserved community in the Bronx, students need personalized support to reach the same goals as their peers at private schools, who already get that level of support.
INNOVATION SPOTLIGHT: Expanding Access to College Now
The CUNY College Now program offers NYC public high school students opportunities to better prepare for their next steps by taking credit bearing college courses. This fall, we worked with CUNY to expand the reach of this valuable program, notifying 17,500+ students and their caregivers about their eligibility for College Now , and enabling high school counselors and college staff to track applications and provide targeted support so more students enroll. Based on the program’s success, we're expanding it citywide in Spring 2025.
