W ith the UK on course to have 15 million FTTH connections by 2025, and full fibre penetration by 2033 the race is on to secure investment to deliver this monumental infrastructure challenge. At the same time new questions emerge as UK Digital Strategy sets broader challenges for the public and private sector to make the most of the opportunities this new digital infrastructure brings. How can the UK deliver skills to enable the digital economy to flourish? How can we support new digital businesses? without an awards ceremony. Launched in 2018, the Connected Britain Awards are dedicated to recognising the successes of organisations involved in enhancing and utilising connectivity. The awards are open to all parts of the eco-system, from operators and alt-nets to government departments, local authorities and superfast bodies, plus depending on the category, other stakeholders, including vendor companies. All entries are assessed by an expert panel of judges. There have been so many entries this year that the shortlist is actually a long list. The winners will be named on the 18th of June 2019.
