LAUNCHOFMOBILE BUSINESSAPPFOR TRADESPEOPLE

g Tradesmen and women could free up more time to earn an extra £6,000 each year with a new app developed to help them with their business. Timter is designed to enable British trade professionals – from plumbers to electricians, carpenters, roofers, small builders and more – to earn more without working harder, win more work through an enhanced professional image and gain better control over their projects. It handles most major aspects of business management including job quoting, project planning, time tracking, product ordering, stock management and invoicing. For most, full use of the app can free up at least four hours a week to spend on fee-earning projects. For a tradesperson with an hourly charge rate of £35 who works 45 weeks a year, this could add £6,300 to their annual income - an approximately 20% increase in average pay. For more information and for links to download Timter from the Apple and Google app stores, visit www.timter.com

POLYPIPEANDADEY INNOVATIONMERGE

g Polypipe has announced the acquisition of Adey Innovation, a progressive move from Europe’s largest manufacturer of piping systems and water and climate management systems. Adey will continue to support the industry through innovation and sees the two leading UK brands working together towards the same purpose of water management and creating a sustainable environment. Polypipe complements Adey’s existing market-leading position and capabilities in the UK, with largely common end-users (housing developers and plumbing and heating installers) and routes to market (merchants and specialist distributors). Commenting on the acquisition, Martin Payne, Polypipe Chief Executive Officer, said, “Polypipe’s strategy is to grow both organically and through carefully selected value-enhancing acquisitions, with a particular focus on sustainability and sectors within climate and water management. Adey is a pioneer and market leader in the residential heating protection market, one of the fastest growing segments of the UK construction market, underpinned by a shift towards more energy-efficient heating systems and regulatory tailwinds. We welcome ADEY’s management and employees and look forward to working with them over the coming years.” www.adey.com

Government legislation which mandates all new models of domestic boilers to be “hydrogen-ready” from 2025. This commitment is several years ahead of similar action being proposed within the EU. Stewart Clements, Director, HHIC said, “UK boiler manufacturers are clearly leading the way to achieving Net Zero, setting the pace for the rest of
