Bronchoalveolar Lavage (BAL)
• Open-end, silicone, radiopaque, heavy wall tube for lavage via the nasotracheal route • Distal 30mL balloon cuff can be inflated to prevent retrograde fluid flow around the tube and help stabilize placement • Both aspiration and irrigation syringes can be attached to the stopcock at the same time (one stopcock included) • Sterilization with EO gas is recommended for reuse - replacement 3-way stopcock (item #2400) is required
Catheter-over-needle insertion method for direct puncture into the trachea. The semi-rigid flushing catheter has a stylet and luer adapter. The flushing catheter is packaged in a protective sleeve to allow aseptic handling (sterile gloves not required.)
