Hospitality The Wednesday night Welcome Reception had a great turnout. This was a come and go event at the Water Company featuring hors d’oeuvres and a signature Kentucky bourbon drink. Attendees, vendors, guests and several past presidents gathered around the rooftop pool overlooking downtown Louisville. Looking around the crowd you could see many old friends chatting and having a good time. We hope everyone enjoyed Thursday night at the Kentucky Derby Museum! Attendees had full access to all the exhibits and a chance to visit the gift shop and sample some local bourbons. After dinner several enjoyed dancing to the tunes played by DJ Roy, visiting the photo booth for some fun snapshots to remember the evening, and viewing the Greatest Race movie in the museum’s 360º theatre.
It was wonderful to see so many people participate in wearing Kentucky Derby styles. WOW! Attendees did not disappoint! It was certainly hard to pick the contest winners, but we could only have one per category. Best Derby Hat/Fascinator - Nora Marquez-de la cruz; Best Socks/Tie - Quint Withers; and Best Outfit - Catrina Brewer. The Hospitality Committee would like to extend a special thank you to our own Vicki Danielson for being our Derby Dinner Bugler!
