by Keith L. Brooks M u c h is b e i n g s a id about di vine healing. Various healing programs are being presented, and the authority of the New Testament is claimed for each and all. The above passage in the New Testament is concerning healing o f body, and it is vari ously interpreted. Some are using it to teach that the cure for all diseases, as well as sin, is in the atonement and that therefore it is God’s will for every child of His to claim a per fect body immediately. All spiritual deliverances, it is true, are promised in the atone ment, yet the benefits of the atonement extend into the com ing age and are not fully realized as yet. The atonement delivers from sin, but we still have sinful natures. It delivers from death; still we must die. It delivers from the grave; still we must pass through it. It delivers from sick ness — yet many of the most godly of the saints are still sub ject to it, and not because they are destitute of faith. It is said that all sickness is of Satan and so could not be God’s will for a Christian. Temptation is also satanic, yet God wisely allows us to be tempted. Sin is Sa tanic, sorrow is satanic, and so is disease—yet God permits us for the present to be subjected to these things. Sickness, like these other things, is a part o f God’s THE KING'S BUSINESS
