The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group presented the Alzheimer Society’s Cornwall and District chapter with a $25,000 donation on March 31. The local insurer recently donated a total of $75,000 to the Society’s three local chapters. The Cornwall recipient was chosen as the Commonwell’s 2016 WE C.A.R.E (Create a Ripple Effect) recipient. “This donation will help our Society make a difference for individuals with dementia and their families,” said Shelley Vaillancourt, executive director of the local Alzheimer Society of Cornwall and District. Part of the funding will secure transportation for the Society’s day program, whereas the rest shall be used to create a bilingual Dementia Friends video.
