strong impact in the Fraternity on all levels are inspiring. The decision to major in public management and leadership was based on an increasing acumen in business and leadership. “I am strongly inter- ested in leadership studies and felt like this major gave me the best of both worlds,” Smith declares. JGVP Smith begins each day with Dr. Charles F. Stanley’s Every Day in His Presence , a daily devotional with Bible verses, which are applied along with a prayer. A stalwart who believes in a balance of health and wellness. “I have fallen in love with the grind of keeping my body in shape. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and family. I absolutely love to travel, and as a young adult, I want to see the world,” he states empathetically.

ON KAPPA ALPHA PSI Brother Smith was introduced to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. early. “At a young age, my father, Dr. Shawn A. Smith (Alpha 1988), intro- duced me to Kappa. Growing up, I was surrounded by Kappa, and my father showed me the true meaning of achievement.” Then, at the age of 13, I joined the Indianapolis Kappa League, and it

educated me on the impact Kappa makes in the community. The moment I stepped on campus at Indiana Univer- sity I knew I wanted to be a Kappaman. Every day, I am grateful to walk the same streets as the Founders with my chest and head up.” Smith was raised by Dr. Smith and his mother, Tabetha Walker. “I have two older sisters who are members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.,
