He always told us, ‘Educa- tion is the key to success,’ which has always stuck with me.” “My father has always been my hero. At a young age, my father also introduced me to sports. Growing up, I played football, baseball, and basketball. Growing up, I played Quarterback, which I believe played a significant role in making me the leader I am today. I was a varsity letterman in football and baseball at Lawrence Central High School.” 35TH ADMINISTRATION PLATFORM As Junior Grand Vice Polemarch, Brother Smith hit the ground run- ning. “I’ve served as a change agent in igniting undergraduate engagement. I believe that it is vital for every under- graduate chapter to be informed about everything that is going on at the Grand Chapter level and stay con- nected with the collegiate population.” He notes that streamlining com- munication with the Council of Junior Province Vice Polemarchs was par- ticularly effective at increasing the dissemination of information to the Fraternity’s undergraduate chapter, Polemarchs. “This is paving the way for better undergraduate chapter operations.” Under the 35th Administration’s Undergraduate Growth and Devel- opment prong, JGVP Smith and the Undergraduate Board of Directors

recognize and reward undergraduate chapter achievement through the “Chapter of the Month” initiative. The winning chapter receives $500 for outstanding academic achievement, community service, and on-campus presence.

The “Brother of the Month” ini- tiative rewards undergraduates who excel. Seven undergraduate brothers have received $250 for academic achievement, leadership success, and community service.
